When I take the time to write down what I plan to do, I get it done.
When I take the time to write down my goals, I begin to take action to complete them.
When I take the time to write down the things that I want to experience, they become more tangible.

Over a year ago, I started compiling a list of people in the personal development field. As soon as my book is published, I will send each person a book and request a testimonial. Having a testimonial from a well known author would mean a lot to me.

At the top of my list is Jack Canfield, a man I respect as an author and as a coach. The rest of my list consists of well known authors, speakers, and motivators in the personal development field.

Over a 4 month period, I kept adding names to my list.

Even though I had my list, I wasn’t sure how to meet and connect with these people. I decided to put my list away until my book was complete. I filed my list under “JACK CANFIELD”.

When I started my list, all I knew was that I wanted to connect with this group of people. I would daydream and wonder what it might be like to do projects together, knowing that name recognition would help get our stuff out to more people.

A few months later I found myself standing in front of Jack Canfield and shaking his hand.

How did this happen?
Was it synchronicity?
Was it luck?
Was it because his name is at the top of my list?

I can’t say why, but I don’t think it was a coincidence.

I know that writing it down made it real, and it became easy for me to put my attention on my list.

So please, take a moment and write down what your wish is.

TYPE IT BELOW AND MAKE IT REAL!

My wish……to live life at the fullest. I don’t want regrets, broken friendships, bonds between loved ones, to seem like my life was a complete nothing. Taking risks, loving, friendships, hopes, dreams,….LIFE is what I want to complete and having nothing I want to take back.

Come on, tell us, Wendy! How did you meet him?

    • Wendy says:

A friend invited me to be his guest at a one day workshop in Philadelphia. Jack Canfield was beginning to market a huge online program for authors :-) .

He told me that he liked the colors on my book cover, I burst into a big grin!

My wish for 2013…. to have more time to enjoy the important things in life. Decrease my stress load and improve my energy level. Focus on the things that I’m passionate about and that bring me joy. Develop a successful Wildtree business. Follow my Life Path/Purpose. Fully embrace life and have no regrets!

    • Wendy says:

Hi Robin! I know you’ll be successful at Wildtree. The business model works well (I was a Tupperware Dealer back in the day), and more important, the products look to be of high quality. For people who don’t have a Whole Foods in their backyard, this is a perfect alternative.

      • Robin says:

        Wendy,
Thanks for the positive feedback. I’m really excited about Wildtree. I’m passionate about healthful eating but food has to taste good or people won’t continue to eat nutritious foods. I’m totally excited about 2013 and my goals for the year.

I agree that putting things in writing makes them more concrete and real. Some of us just need that push to take the time to actually write it down. I find that my brain is swarming with ideas at times but I just don’t take the time to make note of them for future thought. Thanks for the encouragement to put my goals into written words.

One wish/dream I’ve had that I’ve told a few people about (although I’ve never written it down until now) is to sing in a choral group with the Philadelphia Orchestra. What a thrill it would be to sing with those so talented musicians in Verizon Hall!!

I began to conceive of it as a reality when I met other singers who have sung with them – 2 of them in a group I sing with. One is a regular with the Philadelphia Singers, the other sang with them when they were recruiting lots of extras. I learned in an overall way how it might be doable. (Step 1: Have a plan, even if I don’t feel ready to execute it.)

Recently I noticed they’ll be soon singing a piece with the orchestra I’ve sung before – I’ve missed the auditions deadline, but I’m going to call them in the next day or two to see what the possibilities are…!!! You never know! It’s one more step closer to reality.

I so agree with you. I too see that magic occur when I commit my goals and wishes in writing. I also know that I take action when I do that in both the conscience and sub-conscience way. So I say write it down and rock on. :-)

  6. I have a few for 2013, as 2012 was not my finest year:
My wish is to be a New York Times Best Selling non fiction author, Motivational Speaker, internationally acclaimed best selling fiction author, TV personality, and return to my lowest weight after my 103 pound weight loss. I am already richly blessed with love and family – now its time for a career takeoff! Thank you for this space to create abundance!

    • Wendy says:

Carol, clearly nothing will get in your way!
You and I have similar goals, though I’m not interested in becoming a TV personality lol!
Tell us more about your book.

      • Wendy – thank you for the reply and the invitation to share more about my book.

I am in the final stages of completing a non-fiction book which follows my journey of losing 103 pounds without surgery and completing (at that time) 6 half marathons and 3 full marathons. All this while enduring severe fibromyalgia and debilitating migraines.

Thinking I could rather than thinking I couldn’t made all the difference in the world, and I am proud to making daily progress on all fronts. I love sharing my story and hope to be a positive inspiration to anyone who needs a hand, a friend, a moment of hope.

Thank you again and my best to you and this group!

  7. I am both a Wife and Mother- so my love and family meter runs over! My intention for 2013 is more geared towards my career and personal health:

-find my professional home in an exceptional company that will value my qualities and help my family to relocate
-climb out of the hole that is debt and become financially stable
-quit smoking and become the healthiest I have ever been
-live a more positive and fullfilling life
-get out of my comfort zone
