Myths About Powerful Positive Thinkers
1. Positive Thinkers Avoid Thinking About Real Life.
My sister tells me that I walk around with “rose colored glasses”. She thinks because I’m optimistic, I’m avoiding the realities of life. This couldn’t be further from the truth.
As a Powerful Thinker I view myself more as a creative thinker.
I find ways to get myself unstuck. I take the time to look at an issue or problem and reframe it.
Positive thinkers don’t think “I’ll never be able to do this.” Rather, they reframe their thoughts to “I like the idea I can do this.”
Thomas Edison, Steve Jobs, NASA employees, and other positive thinkers never thought “I can’t do this”. If they did you probably wouldn’t be reading this right now.
People who are well grounded in reality realize that there are many possibilities. Positive thinkers intentionally choose the possibility that fits their desires.
2. Positive Thinkers don’t ignore negative thoughts.
No one I know likes to focus on worry, fear, and negative thoughts. It’s human nature to ignore them.
Unfortunately, when negative thoughts are ignored they grow bigger, like weeds in a garden. The more you ignore them the more insidious and deep rooted they become. Ignore them and you are at the risk of those negative thoughts appearing as headaches, stomach issues and worse.
Positive thinkers know that ignoring negative thoughts can be detrimental to their health and to their goals.
To be a positive thinker you must BE AWARE of your internal fears and worries, then intentionally create new, beneficial thoughts to achieve your goals.
3. Positive Thinkers Don’t Get Stuck in Wishing
Lots of people who “don’t believe in positive thinking” think that positive thinkers are hoping to manifest something by simply wishing.
True positive thinkers know that directing thoughts has the powerful ability to change attitudes.
If you want to do something and you’ve got some worry or fear about it, you might not do it at all.
When you shift your thoughts to become more positive, you can transform your struggle and take action more easily.
4. Positive Thinkers Know That Thoughts Can change Reality.
Your thinking is what determines your reality.
If you think that bad things will happen, you’ll find ways to prove that this is true.
When you change your thoughts and become more positive, you automatically begin to focus your attention on the outcome you desire.
As you become aware of more possibilities, more opportunities will appear in your field of vision.
The reality of a positive thinker is that you can train yourself to notice more possibilities and more opportunities to create the life you want.
