Happy people create their own happiness – from the inside out. When you sit by yourself and notice your thoughts it’s easy to start to believe your doubts and fears.
That’s when your feelings start to slide downhill.
So how do you feel happy?
Intentionally changing your thoughts is the MOST HELPFUL – and fastest way you can make yourself feel happy.
5 THINGS HAPPY PEOPLE DO TO STAY HAPPY
# 1: Make a short Gratitude List every evening.
Notice the good in your life!
Psychologists at UC Davis had 3 groups of volunteers keep weekly journals focused on a single topic. While one group wrote about major events that had happened that week, the second group wrote about hassles they’d experienced, and the last group wrote a short list of what they were grateful for.
Ten weeks later, those who wrote a Gratitude List felt more optimistic and more satisfied with their lives than those in any of the other groups and even reported fewer physical symptoms of discomfort, from runny noses to headaches.
#2: Read An Adventure Story
Researchers found that when we read about other’s awesome experiences we feel like we are a part of something bigger. We you get away from your own thoughts and put yourself in the place of what you are reading you naturally start to look at the world in a different, more positive way.
Take some time each day to get inspired by reading about other’s adventures!
#3: Take a Short Walk Every Day
A change of scenery is the fast track to feeling happier. Get up from your desk and take a walk outside. Look at the sky and imagine you are a part of something bigger. Notice the trees and plants and send them a little burst of love from your heart.
While you walk around and enjoy the nature around you, allow all those good feelings inside your body and bring them back inside with you.
#4: Join A Club Or A Meetup That Interests You.
Hanging out with like minded people can expand your happiness as you participate in something you truly enjoy. Not sure what floats your boat? Check out local activities on meetup.com and visit different groups. If you don’t find one, why not create a meetup and invite others to join you?
