Wouldn’t it be great if there was a magic pill you could swallow and *poof* you’d be happy and optimistic all day?
Yeah. I’d love that too.
In the meantime, here’s a quick way to start to retrain your mind to think about things that bring you joy:
The moment you notice that you are worrying about something, imagine you are releasing that thought.
You can imagine it getting lighter and lighter and floating out into the atmosphere.
You could even imagine it being zapped by a magic wand and and watch it disappear.
The trick is to use your imagination to let it go.
Then, quickly put your attention on something you appreciate or feel grateful for.
Maybe a flower, the color of your bedroom wall, or even that you are looking forward to watching your favorite TV show tonight.
The more you focus your attention on the things you appreciate and feel grateful for, the more you are actually RETRAINING your mind to automatically get rid of negative thoughts.
While you might not be able to change your current situation immediately, you can choose to feel better in the moment.
Let me know and notice how much better your day goes when you practice this.
Have a Great Day,
Wendy
P.S. After I invent the automatic clothes folding machine, I’ll start working on that Magic Pill!
