It’s so much easier for me to wander through the day totally unaware of my thoughts and let whatever come into
my head take over.
But I know what happens when I shut down my awareness. It’s hard for me to stay a positive thinker.
The little monkey in back of my head starts throwing more and more negative thoughts towards me, like a tennis ball machine constantly spitting balls.
Those pesky negative thoughts start to pile up…and well…
at that moment I’ll do anything to ignore them.
Even though I’m a hypnosis trainer, author, and coach, I have to remember
to “walk the walk and talk the talk”.
I can help others be more positive every day, and with the techniques I teach, it becomes
But, just like my clients, I have to be aware of my thoughts so that I can intentionally direct them to be more positive.
Today is not a good day. It’s a challenge to direct my thoughts and be a positive thinker.
After mailing my taxes and visiting my dad who is in rehab, I noticed that I felt, well, not so positive and optimistic. OK, truth be told, I felt sad, scared and worried for my dad.
Luckily I have a client in 1/2 an hour and the process of helping others turns my negative thoughts towards being a positive thinker faster than anything else. It’s pretty easy to stop focusing on my thoughts and give my clients 110% of my attention.
Helping others is one of the best ways to be a positive thinker fast.
Maybe becoming more positive has more to do with helping others than awareness.
I wonder if you can notice the times you truly and deeply feel great this week. When does it happen? What have you been doing?
When you help others do you feel better?
