Last night my Dad (age 82) and his wife were visiting us. While we were sitting outside on our porch, my father mentioned that the new medication he is on had been causing him “awful nausea.”
Apparently the nausea has been sapping his energy and he feels awful pretty much all day.
On a whim, I asked him if he was interested in using a new technique that will reduce his nausea. I was thinking about using EFT Tapping (aka the Emotional Freedom Technique.)
Now, a bit of background about my father. He’s an open man, but when it comes to traditional medicine, well, he’s extremely traditional.
To my surprise, he said “Sure. I’ll try anything. I feel awful.”
I asked him to mirror me and I began the process of EFT Tapping on meridian points.
While he tapped, he repeated my words “Even though I feel so nauseas, I deeply and completely accept myself without judgement.”
He continued to watch me and tap on the meridian points. After a few rounds of tapping, I asked him how his nausea felt.
“I’m not feeling nauseas, he replied. “My stomach just feels a little upset.”
“Do you want to keep on tapping?” I asked.
“No, let’s eat dinner, my dad replied. “I’m feeling a lot better.”
I was shocked and amazed.
I was shocked that he agreed to try something new, and he didn’t even bother asking me anything about it.
I was amazed that he actually felt better so fast. I know EFT Tapping works. I help my clients and teach them the Emotional Freedom Technique every day. But helping my dad with tapping blew me away.
The next morning I received an email from his wife. He was still using EFT Tapping, the Emotional Freedom Technique, and feeling much better she wrote.
Even though I help my clients with EFT, the Emotional Freedom Technique, this was the first time I helped my dad with tapping.
It felt wonderful to be able to help him that night.

“There is no failure, there is only feedback.”
Hi Wendy, What a heart warming story. Thanks for sharing it. I’ve had similar experiences with my late mother who suffered from Rhumatoid Arthrytis in her hands, feet and finally in her ribs. I was able to convince her to allow me to work on her hands and feet and it worked every time – for awhile. However, when I worked on her ribs, the pain went away permanently. By the way, the hands and feet worked for at least two-four hours each time I worked on them and she was ecstatic to get any relief because she was in so much pain all the time with them.
Keep doing what you’re doing. You’re helping to heal the world.
Blessings,
Ted
