What’s the one thing that you have control over?
HINT # 1 : It’s not your children. It’s not your spouse, significant other, or partner.
HINT # 2 : You can’t touch it.
HINT # 3: You can’t sell it.
HINT # 4: It has the power to change your life.
What is it?
It’s YOUR THOUGHTS.
Here’s an important fact to know: You have total control over your thoughts.
You can choose your thoughts. You can even change your thoughts. No one else can do it.
I used to think it was impossible…
People around me seemed so much happier than me.
I felt stuck. I would constantly compare my life to theirs and mine came up short. The more I did this, the worse I felt. On the train home from work, I’d look around and imagine people going home and enjoying their evenings with their family.
Other people seemed happy and positive, but no matter how much I tried, I couldn’t make myself feel happy.
I knew I was stuck. Stuck in my personal “stinking thinking”.
I thought I was telling myself the truth.
There was no way out.
I figured that the way I was feeling was the way I was going to feel forever.
Fast forward – I’m happily married to the love of my life. I enjoy my career. I’m like myself.
All of this is because I’ve learned how to be aware and change my thoughts.
I’ve learned how to stop the negative chatter.
Was it difficult? Nope.
But I had to learn how to do it.
When you learn how to change your thoughts your life will change.
I wrote a short book to get you started. Read it. Write in it. It’s so easy you’ll wonder why no one taught you this in school.
You’ll be surprised at how small changes can have a big impact on your life.
Start here.
“We cannot control the wind…only the direction of our sail” I completely agree with the statement “we choose our thoughts and how we react”. Emotion is the driving force behind a REACTION….I hope I always remember to breathe and wait till the charged emotion passes. Easier said than done, but it does work when I remember to use the Ouja breath, pray and meditate.
Barbara, I agree with you that there are so many ways to control our thoughts. Remembering is the biggest challenge 🙂
